COVID travel update and resources

While we expect a smooth season, COVID-19 is still with us - hopefully for one last summer. We need to take it seriously in order to get rid of it as soon as possible, and here are is a short update regarding the current travel restrictions, what you can expect to find in Antiparos, and what you can expect at our homes and apartments.

1. Travel to Greece

As things stand today (latest update was May 14th), citizens from the European Union, the Schengen Area, USA, UK, Israel, Serbia, UAE, New Zealand, Australia, South Korea, Thailand, Rwanda, Singapore, the Russian Federation, North Macedonia, Canada, Belarus, Bahrein, Qatar, China, Kuwait, Ukraine, and Saudi Arabia are allowed to enter Greece without the obligation of a quarantine, provided that they:

  • Have a negative PCR test conducted at most 72 hours prior to their arrival in Greece or

  • Can present an official vaccination certificate from their local health authorities

  • Have in any case filled in the Passenger Locator Form 24 hours prior to arriving to Greece

As the season approaches, we do expect more countries to be added to this list. For the latest information, please check travel.gov.gr. Of course, it is equally important for you to check for any restrictions and requirements regarding your return home (e.g. PCR tests, quarantine on arrival)

2. What you can expect in Antiparos

All usual services are open (beaches, restaurants, cafes). The local population in Antiparos has been fully vaccinated; most workers and seasonal staff are vaccinated on the island - and all our staff is.

Restaurants and cafes have been open since May 3rd all around the country, with certain restrictions:

  • Tables will be placed in outdoor spaces only (this is not much of an issue in Antiparos as almost all restaurants are open air)

  • Up to 10 people per table; no standing guests at restaurants and bars

  • No restriction in closing time

  • All staff will be subjected to two COVID self-tests per week and will be wearing masks

  • Guest are not required to wear masks at the table, but are when entering the inside area of the restaurant

There is high demand and limited capacity, so you will need to book early, particularly at the popular dinner places in town. We are happy to help you with recommendations and reservations.

Since last year, Antiparos has been equipped with rapid testing equipment should one be needed. Also, self tests are widely available in Greece and you should be able to find them in the local pharmacy.

In case you need a negative PCR test to return home, we can arrange that for you in the health centres in Paros.

3. Preparations at our homes and apartments

This is our second year of COVID, so we will continue and enhance last year’s practices as follows:

  • All our staff has been vaccinated

  • Staff will wear masks when servicing the homes

  • We will steam all sofas/couches and other fabrics prior to guest arrival

  • We are collaborating with a blue-chip healthcare group to offer 24/7 medical advice to our guests (via phone or telco) as well as additional services should a medical transport be needed.

We believe that these measures, together with everyone’s prudence and the progress of vaccination campaigns around the world will allow us to have a summer that is as close to normal as possible, and safe for all.
