Beaches
Other Cycladic islands can boast beaches of truly out-of-this-world beauty (e.g. Milos, Serifos, Kimolos), but Antiparos by no means disappoints. True to its understated and laid back character, Antiparos has several great beaches; it just doesn’t make a fuss about it! Visitors will find beaches all sorts, from the secluded and solitary to the social and stylish.
Organised - serviced beaches
Soros: One of the largest beaches on the island, a long, sandy stretch with clear waters, comfortable deck chairs and a cool all-day café, bar and restaurant just across the street
Apantima: A small cove with and old quay has been converted into Beach House, a laid-back, yet somehow sophisticated beach, bar and up-scale seafood restaurant
Agios Georgios (west side): just across from the Sanctuary of Apollo in Despotiko, you can find umbrellas and sunbeds, and can also rent a SUP or kayak to do some exploring; no food/drink service on the beach, but you can always go to the nearby tavernas
Free beaches - bring water and shade
Agios Georgios (east side): directly in front of Another Island is a stretch of small, narrow coves that are perfect for a dip or even for a longer stay – especially if you find cover for the sun under the trees
Sostis & Faneromeni: two beaches located on the southern-most part of the island, far away from all settlements, at the end of a dirt road through Soros. It is a bit of a drive (in relative terms of course) but the road is quite good so don’t hesitate. Especially the south-facing Faneromeni, with its azure waters is a real treat, if you manage to visit on a quiet time
Glyfa: if you blink you won’t see it, but this sandy beach directly on the main road to the village is a great place for a quick dip, especially in the morning before the road gets busy
Panagia: with tall trees providing shade all the way to the waterline, it’s no wonder that Panagia is a very popular beach
Livadia: the only beach on the west of the island that is easily accessible; Livadia is a perfect half-mood bay that offers a great day of swimming with a perfect sunset to match (tip - head to the bar of the new and amazing Rooster hotel just above for sunset drinks)
Camping beach: just across from the legendary Antiparos camping, this is a great beach for a day that isn’t windy - you can also swim across the channel to the nearby islands
Sifneiko beach: closest to Antiparos town, Sifneiko is a west-facing beach which is great for all day, but even more close to sunset!
